I had to come up with some Friday inspiration for work today and I think it’s blog worthy. Hope you find some value in it :).

It always seems like a good accomplishment to make it to the end of the week. For those with a Monday through Friday schedule, it’s a perfect time to take a breath and reset for a couple of days before jumping into the routine that generally starts again on Monday. It may also be a good time to evaluate goals you have set and progress you have made toward them.

I ran across the following item quite some time ago. It has really stuck with me, and I think it is always good to remember and share:

Goals can take many different forms. They can be as big or as small as you want them to be. Some have action steps that can be completed in a day or less and others can only happen over time. They can be career goals, personal goals, fitness goals – goals are individual, not universal, so they will be as diverse as the people setting them. You can make them exactly what you want them to be.

We probably all have a few things in mind that we are working toward.  It is good to set aside some time every now and then to evaluate the progress you are making toward that goal.

If you are seeing no progress, jot down a thing or two that you can do in the immediate future to move forward a bit.

If you are seeing slow progress, don’t be discouraged and just keep going. Slow progress is indeed progress. You’re headed in the right direction even if it’s not as quick as you would like it to be.

If you are seeing huge progress, that’s awesome! Keep going and evaluate how you may want to continue developing the goal so it will pull you forward.

Taking some time every once in a while to evaluate progress toward your goals (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly – maybe Friday, maybe not :)) can keep a goal from becoming just a good intention.  It also gives you a chance to celebrate the progress you’ve made.

And possibly the most important part of this Friday email – be proud of that progress :).

Have a great day and make it a Fabulous Friday!
